In the world of Fashion, many of the collections of this year have been illuminated by the light of Gold.
From the walkways, the trend of Gold is taken possession of our daily lives, even in everyday objects, such as the telephone and the home furniture, even the bathroom one. Gold is no longer just a precious material but it has become a colour, like the others: a way to express our personality, a texture to illuminate our wardrobe and our rooms. The world of contemporary Design, attentive by nature, immediately embraced the trend of Gold. Only in recent times – since the mid-90s – the world of Design has approached the world of Jewelery, where gold has always been the material par excellence, just when it was possible to started to test new materials and new technologies, avoiding the constraints of precious materials. Today, jewels are objects, non necessarily valuable for the material in which they are made, but for new meanings connected with contemporary ways of being. Gold Design exhibition brings together some of the most representative pieces of contemporary design, now replicated in gold texture, along with objects in real gold, to bear witness to this trend of the contemporary markets. The exhibition on the topic of Gold is designed for the city of Arezzo because the Tuscan city boasts the longest gold industrial district in Italy and it is the most representative of the goldsmith’s art in the world.
