PAOLO GIORDANO (designer and photographer)

Paolo Giordano – design

Tubes are luminous sculptures made by industrial stainless steel and copper tubes. On the contact points where the 2 tubes meet light directs a blinding glow on the red surface of the copper.

Hermes is a concrete sculpture. It is part of a large work that is also photographic: ‘Digital Journey into the Classic’, where the original classic is provocatively manipulated, cut and distorted.

Venus is a marble sculpture. It is part of a large work that is also photographic: ‘Digital Journey into the Classic’, where the original classic is provocatively manipulated, cut and distorted. The project draws from an archive of classical Greek and Roman beauty. A bulky heritage for those who, like me, no longer seek balance and perfection of form, but still look to the past as an immense source of inspiration. In this series of objects and images I have provocatively given life to virtual and abstract sculptures, which maintain strong physicality.

Paolo Giordano – photography

There are trees that speak to one as a friend would, who dance and joke to please you, the observer. They’re slightly crazy, these trees, the kind that spin as merrily as the spinning tops spun by the eternal child who lives in all our hearts. When they stop you can’t help laughing and you’re happy just like that.

A digital journey into the classic is a photographic project where the original classic is provocatively manipulated, cut and distorted. A bulky heritage for those who, like me, no longer seek balance and perfection of form, but still look to the past as an immense source of inspiration. In this series of images I have provocatively given life to virtual and abstract photo/sculptures, which maintain strong physicality.
