A Matter of Perception: Linking Minds – Palazzo Litta, Corso Magenta 24, Milano
In collaboration with: Cesar
As the Italian pun that gives the project its name suggests, the Fra(m)menti project by Garcìa Cumini unveils an invisible union of minds. It connects, separates and unites – a clear metaphor for the multiple connections between two or more people, and between people and objects. There is just one fixed point, in the centre of the room: the UNIT kitchen by Cesar. All around, an array of mirrors creates a relationship between product and observer, encouraging visitors to snap photos that can be shared across social platforms. With its myriad images, each mirror establishes an exclusive connection precisely because the observer’s point of view, reflection and way of interacting is unique. The network of mirrors builds an imaginary chain like an alchemist’s formula, reflecting itself infinitely and allowing observers to lose themselves in space, to become an ‘actor’ in their very own vision.
