A Matter of Perception: Linking Minds – Palazzo Litta, Corso Magenta 24, Milano
In collaboration with: Ichendorf
The Ichendorf brand was born in the early years of the 20th century in a small town called Quadrath-Ichendorf, near Cologne, and later moved to Milan in 1990. This is the first time that Ichendorf will participate in Milan Design Week, exhibiting a selection of significant products designed by Federico Angi, Cristina Celestino, Denis Guidone, Jenkins&Uhnger and mist-o. Italian-Japanese duo mist-o was entrusted with the exhibition design, which suggests a museum-type setting where Ichendorf products are displayed on irregular white pedestals in different shapes. Each product family is showcased on its own supporting surface to emphasise tailor-made care. A sort of landscape takes shape through the constellations of coloured and transparent products that visitors move through. Works of contemporary art and artists such as Carl Andre and Robert Morris have inspired the use of monolithic elements that contrast with the surrounding space.
