The Litta Variations / Opus 5 – News #4/2019 – Flos, De Castelli, B&B Italia, Salvatori

The Litta Variations / Opus 5
9 – 14 April 2019

To mark Milano Design Week 2019, The Litta Variations / Opus 5 has orchestrated the contributions of some important companies which have decided to actively support the production and fruition of the Echo installation by the Pezo Von Ellrichshausen studio.

Piero Gandini (Chairman of Design Holding and CEO of Flos) has shared and strongly endorsed the project by personally purchasing the work of the Chilean architects with the further commitment to ensure the continuity of the project. For the first time, the installation hosted in the Main Courtyard, will cross the spatial borders of the Palazzo and the temporal borders of Milano Design Week: from the outset, Echo was conceived as a permanent work of art with a future.

Flos, a leading manufacturer of high-end lighting fixtures and systems, is the technical partner for the lighting project of the Echo installation and its outdoor spaces. Thanks to specific expertise in this field and the innovative technology of the Architectural and Outdoor collections, Flos has perfected a lighting project which fits in perfectly with the outdoor area of the Main Courtyard and its portico, thus contributing to the poetic purity of the work.

B&B Italia, an Italian group and leading manufacturer of up-market design furnishings has supplied a set of twenty-two PAB benches in light brushed oak, custom-made for this installation.

The installation will be constructed by the technical partner De Castelli, Metal Projects Factory, renowned for its expertise and skilled craftsmanship: on-going metal research and experimentation has enabled the company to penetrate international markets and to undertake significant collaborations which have translated into prestigious architectural constructions and special projects.

Salvatori will contribute to the Echo installation as a technical partner with natural stone seats designed by the Pezo von Ellrichshausen studio. Salvatori’s participation in the project, with the production of design accessories of impeccable lines, harmonizes perfectly with the installation while highlighting its beauty.
