THE CREATOR
After his Architecture degree in Florence, Michele de Lucchi begins his academic career, working with Adolfo Natalini. At that time, he runs into radical design movement and creates the Cavart group. He moves to Milan, where he becomes friend with Ettore Sottsass. They start to work together in the Memphis group. In this period, the architect participates into other important collective experiences such as Centrokappa and Alchimia. From 1979 he works in Olivetti company. In 1989, he awards the Compasso d’Oro with his lamp Tolomeo, designed for Artemide. In 1990, he founds his own brand, Collezione Privata, with which he realizes interior decors. At the same time, he carries on his project activity, setting exhibitions and museums.
