03. Poltronova

Ultrafavola

Poltronova starts its story from its most iconic product, Ultrafragola by Ettore Sottsass, and uses it to amplify its kaleidoscopic identity. The experience unfolds within eight bubble rooms, each one dedicated to a particular furnishing accessory. A play of “stage curtains” made of strips of metallic film and a mirrored floor, create a surreal atmosphere for visitors to walk around and let their imaginations run free. Just like the yellow brick road that leads to happiness, Poltronova uses Autostrada to connect the various environments. Designed by former member of the radical UFO collective Lapo Binazzi, the straight and curved modules of the innovative carpet systemin three different colour combinations, become the pathway through the installation.
